Online Workshop – House and Succulent Planter
Hello, I am Yukiko Miyai of the DECO Clay Craft Academy. In this video, I will show you how to make a house-shaped planter and create simple succulents to arrange.
From this video, you can learn how to make different types of houses complete with roofs and windows to house your succulents. I will show you how to mold each element of the succulents for this project.
I will be introducing and showing you how to use two types of clay for this project. First, we have our CLAYCRAFT by DECO Soft Clay. We will use mostly white, red, yellow, blue, black, green, and brown. These six colors allow you to create endless possibilities of light and dark colors.
This soft clay is an air-dry clay that dries into a lightweight, durable consistency. You can also paint your clay creation with acrylic paints. You can create everything from interior decor pieces and accessories to wedding items. The possibilities are endless
We will also be using DECOMAGIC Elite Clay for the house planter. Elite only comes in one color, but you can finish with paint to create a variety of different types of sculptures that you see here. Dolls, vases, animal figurines can all be made with Elite clay for when you need a denser type of air-dry modeling clay.
You can create all that you see here with Elite clay, you can also add our soft clay to the Elite clay. By utilizing both types of clay, you'll get a nice natural finish, but you can also paint the dried piece using acrylic paints. You can create different clay colors simply by mixing the different colors of soft clay with the white clay, like this.
Let's make the house planter and succulents!
Materials: Elite, DECO soft clay, glue, Styrofoam, drying foam, Ziploc bag, paper towels, press bar, detail sticks, chopstick, scissors, paint, paintbrushes, ruler, wire cutter, and utility knife
